In Austria the presidential elections take place on the 4th of December, 2016. Similar to the presidential election in the US, this is a choice that will shape Austria’s future and image abroad. The hopes of the patriots are embodied in the Austrian Freedom Party’s (FPÖ) candidate, Norbert Hofer.
Hofer received the plurality of votes, 35% as opposed to 21% of rival Alexander van der Bellen, in the first round. The much closer results of the second round of voting (49.7% / 50.3%) were annulled by the Constitutional Court of Austria due to a possibility of election fraud, requiring the election to be re-held.
Norbert Hofer, is the youthful father of four children. He walks with a cane after recovering from a paragliding accident, has a background in business, is a traditionalist and a gun enthusiast. I don’t know what kind of gun Trump carries, but Hofer likes to carry a Glock.
And quite simply, he advocates for an end to mass migration.
He calls for an end to therapeutic measures such as the so-called "upper limit" and for a closure of Austria’s external borders to economic refugees. But it is not only in this respect that Hofer has come to be known as a "President with Heart” (Präsident der Herzen). He is also a strong opponent of the detached nature of representative democracy and calls for a direct democracy based on the Swiss model.
That is why he also advocates a binding Austrian referendum on Austria’s relationship with the European Union, and is an opponent of the transatlantic free trade agreement TTIP, which represents a threat to European economic freedom. In contrast to Van der Bellen, Hofer's views are clear and straightforward.
Hofer, in his government roll of what is known 3rd President of the Austrian Parliament, also fought mass migration, Islamization and globalization. These clear postiitions are why he, like Trump, has been attacked by the main stream media and the other political parties in Austria. As Trump once said of his own campaign, 'It’s the greatest pile-on in American history’. This may be the greatest pile on in Austrian history.
That seems to apparently be what happens when leaders fight for the patriotic change which is being called for by more and more people in the face of exploding crime, out of touch elites, and a stagnant economy. We saw it with Trump, and we saw it with Brexit.
His opponent for the final round of the election, Alexander Van der Bellen, is the candidate of the left-wing Greens, and thus the establishment and globalization. In his previous appearances Van der Bellen has confessed a desire to the deeply unpopular desire to create a European Super State, a kind of "United States of Europe”.
Van der Bellens's understanding of democracy is also strange. He speaks of democratic principles, but has repeatedly said he would not support a government with FPÖ participation. In the event of an FPÖ victory in national elections, he has threatened to simply dissolve Parliament and call for new elections. And patriotism? He heads the Greens' Youth Organization that suggests the Austrian flag be used to remove dog shit from the streets, while he personally promoted calls to "Dissolve Austria!" in his lectures.
Now with the rise of Trump, the candidate has tried to present himself as a sort of "last minute" patriot, homeland-oriented and populist. Like Clinton and the Democrats, even members of the Greens don’t really trust what he says. He, like Clinton, supported the TTIP, before he was running for president, and against it. TTIP is very controversial even among the Greens.
Of course Van der Bellen is supported by a broad alliance of the MSM, the Socialist party SPÖ, numerous NGOs, and even parts of the conservative party ÖVP. The globalist oligarch and industrialist Hans-Peter Haselsteiner has dropped several million euros on his campaign. Everything but an endorsement from Soros and the Clinton Foundation.
As the second round of presidential elections proved, which had to be repeated due to massive irregularities in the elections in favor of Van der Bellen, the election process is likely to be very close. For Austria, this choice will have a largely symbolic character as the president holds little actual power. Still it is the decision between a future dominated by peace, security and self-determination or a country dominated by crime, Islamization, mass immigration and submission to foreign interests.
The choices of Donald Trump and Brexit have shown one thing: that the Zeitgeist is on the side of the free peoples of the West, and against the globalists. Norbert Hofer's victory would not only be utterly unspeakable in the eyes of liberals, leftists, and disgruntled, psychotic, medicated, pampered crybabies, but more, another milestone on the road to Europe's freedom.
